State Fair of Virginia – September 24- October 3, 2021
The annual State Fair of Virginia will over guests several fan favorites this year, including midway rides, racing pigs, and chainsaw artist Ben Risney. The fair also will host a variety of live music and two nights of rodeo. For those seeking iconic fair food, everything from funnel cakes to cotton candy and turkey legs will be available. Hanover AutumnFest September 25, 2021
Join the Hanover Tavern Foundation in celebrating it’s 6th annual Hanover AutumnFest. The festival was started in 2016 with one goal in mind; celebrating the community around us. The families of Hanover County and the surrounding counties are one of the biggest reasons the historic Hanover Tavern still stands today as one of our country’s oldest Taverns. The event will feature great food, craft beer, local wine, live music, fall foliage, and family fun. Along with, pumpkin picking, face painting, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, hay slide, and more!
Richmond Folk Festival – October 8-10, 2021
The Richmond Folk Festival is back this fall with a live and in-person event to celebrate its 17th anniversary. This free event has quickly become one of Virginia’s largest festivals, drawing thousands of fans each year to downtown Richmond’s riverfront to celebrate the roots, richness, and variety of American culture through music, dance, traditional crafts, storytelling, and food. The three-day event features six stages showcasing music and dance from more than 40 artists from around the world. This includes the Virginia Folklife Area, which celebrates regional traditions; the ever-popular CarMax Family Area, produced by the Children’s Museum, with activities and participatory performances for the young and young at heart; and a bustling Crafts Marketplace. Scott’s Addition Pumpkin Festival October 16, 2021
Join locals for the free 16th annual Scott’s Addition Pumpkin Festival from 12 PM – 6 PM. Great live music, local cuisine and beverages, a kid’s area, and more! Location: 1301 N. Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23230.
Haunted History at Tuckahoe Plantation – October 30, 2021
Forget the “scare house” substitutes, and visit a Real Haunted House this Halloween season! Join Tuckahoe Plantation on Saturday, October 30th from 2-6 pm for Halloween festivities fit for the whole family! Wandering the historic grounds and mansion of Tuckahoe, you may catch a glimpse of our resident Ghost or even the Headless Horseman! Admission is $10 per person (ages 3+) or $30 per family (max 5 people). Get a Ghost Tour of the historic mansion to hear spooky tales of supernatural occurrences, past and present!
